Reducing the Stigma Around Mental Health

“Normalizing the conversation around mental health is critical when you consider that more than 50 million Americans already live with a known mental health issue, yet far too few receive the help they need.”

A large portion of Americans live in places where there is no access to mental health care. As mental health challenges increase, it is important that we utilize resources around us to reduce the stigma. The stigma around mental health has decreased. Creating a culture that encourages conversations around mental health will encourage conversations about mental health and allow people to get the help they need. There are also several actions that can be taken to encourage and expand access to mental health care.
